Anticipation is building in Collinwood, and you can almost hear the roar of trucks and tractors echoing throughout town. Pullin’ in the Wood, the annual tractor pull hosted by the City of Collinwood and the Collinwood Beautification Board, is coming up on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.
The antique pull will be the first big event of the two-day pull. On Friday, September 11, gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for everyone to begin enjoying the food, games, and other vendor booths. Pulling will begin at 7:00 p.m., and rules will be the same as Crossroads of Dixie.
Saturday, September 12 will be the official Mid-South Pullers truck and tractor pull. Gates will again open at 5:00 p.m. with pulling to begin at 7:00. Classes will include Super Farm Tractors, Pro Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Stock 4WD, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, and Mini Mod Tractors.
A hook fee will be charged, and there will be a cash money payout for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Street Trucks class will be on Friday night, along with Diesel Truck class and Gas Truck class. Antique class will be first on Friday night.
Pullin’ in the Wood will be held again this year at its new home, the far end of Dixie Youth Park in Collinwood. The street address is 101 Bratton Drive for out-of-towners who may need to plug it into a GPS. Be sure to get there early for parking, and be sure to bring your lawn chairs for seating.
