The Ladycats suffered two losses last week, falling to the Wildcats of Walnut, MS and the Richland Lady Raiders before bouncing back to dominate the Lady Lions of Frank Hughes. The Wildcats defeated Hubbertville, AL on Saturday in Florence, then lost a close one to Richland on Tuesday. They soundly defeated the Lions of Frank Hughes on Friday as Cayman Camfield scored his 2,000th point with 5:32 left in the third on a 3-point shot. The Ladycats are now 14 – 4 on the year, with the 'Cats standing at 12 – 5. They face Hickman County on Tuesday before hosting Perry County on Friday and Fayettevile on Tuesday, the 20th.
Against Walnut, MS on Saturday, the Ladycats jumped out to a 16 – 9 lead the end of the first quarter. They led 22 – 17 by halftime, but in the third and fourth quarter, their lead disappeared and they fell by the score of 42 – 36. Ava Ashley hit for 16 points with 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists. Presley Daniel scored 8 points and had 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist. Adaline Odle scored 5 points with 2 steals and 2 assists. Mary-Grace Littleton had 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with 3 steals. Lou Prater had 2 points with 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 assists. Kate Brison had a steal and an assist, and Kaybree Carroll had 2 boards, a steal, and an assist. The Ladycats had 16 turnovers and only shot 32% from the field. They were outrebounded 33- 29.

In the third, they cut the margin to 4, but Richland fought back to lead by 13 after three quarters. Ava Ashley hit a basket late in the 4th to make it a 4-point contest again, 43 – 39. The Ladycats had a chance to cut it to 2 on free throws with 21.3 left, but managed only 1 of 2. Richland hit 1 of 2 to go up by 4. With 4 seconds left, Ava Ashley hit 2 at the line to make the margin 2, then Richland hit one of two with 2.6 seconds left to take the hard-fought win, 45 – 42. Ashley scored 24 points on the night and went 10 for 10 from the foul line. Lou Prater had 7 points with 2 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Presley Daniel scored 6 points and had 6 boards, a steal, and 2 assists. Adaline Odle had 5 points with a rebound, a steal, and an assist. Kate Brison had a rebound. The Ladycats won the rebounding battle, 23 – 17, but shot only 33.3% from the field on the night, managing only 3 of 15 long range goals.
The Wildcats looked to avenge an earlier loss to the Richland Raiders on Tuesday night. They led 7 – 5 at the end of the first quarter and just couldn't get their offense on track. They increased the margin in the second, but saw the Raiders hit a 3 at the halftime buzzer to go cut the margin to 3, 21 – 18. Richland came out and hit a three on their first possession of the second half to tie the game at 21 all. The Raiders outscored the 'Cats, 15 – 9 in the third. A Cayman Camfield shot with 5:19 left, put the 'Cats on top 34 – 33. He also made 2 free throws with 1:15 left to make it 39 – 35. Richland fought back, hitting a three and taking advantage of an out-of-bounds turnover by the Wildcats, and nailed another 3 to go up 41 – 39. The 'Cats fouled in the last seconds with the Raiders, hitting a free throw to make the final score 41 – 39.
Camfield hit for 23 on the night with 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and an assist. Drew Baugus scored 5 points and had a rebound, while Caysen Mosley had 4 points, with 7 rebounds, a block, and 3 assists. Nate Bevis had 3 points, 3 boards, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Case Butler and Logan Davis each had 2 points. Butler had 4 boards with a block, and Davis had 3 boards and 2 assists. Friday night, the Ladycats held the Lady Lions of Frank Hughes Lady Lions scoreless in the first quarter to take a 20 – 0 lead. They went on to lead, 32 – 5, at the half. In the third, the Lady Lions managed only 1 point, and the Ladycats took the 54 – 12 win with all the Ladycat players seeing action. Ava Ashley hit for 23 points on the night and had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist. Kate Brison nailed a couple of 3 pointers for 6 points and had 2 rebounds and a steal. Adaline Odle and Lou Prater each scored 5 points. Odle had 2 boards, a steal, and an assist, while Prater added 2 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 assists. Presley Daniel and Carleigh Labombard had 4 points each. Daniel pulled 9 rebounds, with a block, 3 steals, and an assist. Labombard also had a steal and an assist. Shylynn Smith had 3 points with 4 steals and 2 assists, and Kaybree Carroll and Izzie Scaife each scored 2. Carroll had 2 boards with a steal and 2 assists. Scaife had a rebound and an assist.
