The Collinwood Trojans picked up a 35-28 victory over Loretto on Friday night, Sept. 18, putting together a strong offensive performance to come away with the week five win.
Quarterback Luke Holt led the Trojans' offense, completing 9 of 16 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Holt also carried the ball 15 times for 42 yards and another touchdown.
Ryan Karcher was a key part of the rushing attack, carrying 14 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Gentry Hart added 65 yards on seven carries and caught four passes for 39 yards.
Aiden Daniel provided a big play threat through the air, catching four passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Daniel also added two rushing attempts for two yards. Bryant Hill had one reception for 25 yards and carried the ball once for two yards.
The Trojans also received a solid defensive effort. Holt recorded a team-high eight tackles, while Hart finished with five tackles. Cole M. Davis recorded three tackles, and John Eley Robinson and Daniel each had two.
Hill had a productive night defensively as well, recording a tackle, forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble. River Ray, Cole Davis, Cole Wilkins, Jayden Wright, Karcher and Wesson Bromley each recorded one tackle.
On special teams, Hunter Montgomery was perfect on extra points, converting all five of his attempts.
Collinwood's balanced offensive attack and timely defensive plays helped the Trojans hold off Loretto and secure the 35-28 victory.
