The Trojanettes and Trojan basketball teams competed in a busy two-day stretch on Monday, January 5, and Tuesday, January 6, earning key wins while also facing tough competition.
On Monday night, the Trojanettes picked up a strong 53–36 victory, led by dominant performances from Sophia Keeton and Ellie Blalock, who were named Players of the Honors. Keeton recorded a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds, while also adding two assists, two blocks, and two steals. Blalock led all scorers with 24 points, along with five rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Other Trojanettes contributing to the win included Abby Smith with five points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal, Sarah Creecy with four points and three rebounds, Emmy Brown with one point, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal, Aubrey Todd with one point and one rebound, and Brinn Crews, who added four rebounds and two assists.
The Trojan Boys followed with a solid 51–39 win on Monday night, showcasing balanced scoring and strong team defense. Cole Risner led the way with 16 points, four rebounds, and six assists, while Brody Holt added 12 points, six rebounds, and one steal. Bennett Rich contributed 11 points and five rebounds, and Tate Linville had an all-around night with seven points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Brandon Gray contributed three points and a block, while Patch Craig added two points, three rebounds, and three assists. Risner, Holt, and Rich earned Player of the Honors recognition.
On Tuesday, January 6, the Trojanettes faced the Wilson Lady Warriors and suffered a 55–23 loss. Ellie Blalock led the team with nine points and a rebound while Sophia Keeton continued strong with eleven rebounds, along with 6 points, one assist, and three blocks. Emmy Brown added four points and four rebounds, Abby Smith finished with two points, one rebound, one assist, and three steals, and Sarah Creecy recorded two points and three rebounds. Brinn Crews contributed an assist.
The Trojan Boys also took on Wilson on Tuesday and fell 64–49 despite strong individual efforts. Cole Risner paced the team with 19 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Brody Holt recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, adding two steals. Tate Linville posted eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Bennett Rich added four points and five rebounds. Stetson Holt scored three points, Patch Craig added one point and three rebounds, and Brandon Gray contributed three rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal. Risner and Holt were named Players of the Honors.
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, January 13, when they travel to Culleoka, before returning home for a matchup against Cornersville on Thursday, January 15.
