WMS Wildcats are 2025 James C. Haile Division AA State Basketball Champions

The Waynesboro Middle School Wildcats competed in the 2025 James C. Haile Middle School Basketball State Tournament last week. The tournament is hosted by Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro, TN. The Wildcats competed in the Class AA Division. Their 2024-2025 overall season record is 19-3.

Led by first-year Head Coach Owen Risner, the Wildcats defeated the following teams to become the 2025 James C. Haile Division AA State Champions.

On January 25, the Wildcats defeated Livingston Middle School, 62 -25. Stats for this game: Casey Franks: 6 points, 2 steals; Caysen Mosley: 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals, 1 block; Drew Baugus: 26 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 4 steals; Kyler Self: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal; Hunter Skelton: 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Bentley Littleton: 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

On January 28, the Wildcats defeated Allons Middle School 47-43. Stats for this game: Casey Franks: 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists; Caysen Mosley: 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1steal, 2 blocks; Drew Baugus: 11 points, 2 rebounds; Kyler Self: 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists; Hunter Skelton: 1 point, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Aiden Ashley: 4 points, 1 rebound.

On February 1, the Wildcats defeated Middle Tennessee Christian School 51-30.
