There’s something special about small-town sports, and this spring the Waynesboro Middle School Wildcats and Lady Cats gave our community plenty to celebrate. Both teams brought home District Tournament Championships, making this a season the school and community will remember for years to come.
The Wildcats, led by Head Coach Myles Prince and Assistant Coaches Jason Quick, Barry Miller, and Brandon Dixon, played with grit, heart, and a team-first attitude every time they took the field. Their hard work and dedication paid off with a well-earned district title.
The Lady Cats, coached by Phillip Carroll and Assistant Coaches Sallie Bundrant and Ben Gallian, showed the same determination and pride all season long. They battled through every challenge together and earned the honor of being crowned District Champions.
These championships belong to more than just the players and coaches. They belong to the parents who filled the stands, the families who spent countless hours at the ballpark, the teachers who cheered them on, and a community that proudly supports its young people.
WMS coaches, along with everyone involved in their sports programs, are excited about the talented young athletes coming up. A community that loves to support the Wildcats and Lady Cats is vital to the success of all the young athletes and teams. As they say, the best is yet to come.
