In a recent game for the Wayne County High School Wildcats, senior forward Cayman Camfield netted a shot that put him over 2,000 career points and etched his name in the history. books. Camfield is now officially the all-time leading scorer in Wayne County High School mens’ basketball history, and he’s not done yet.
Camfield joined a small group of four individual players to ever reach this great accomplishment in WCHS basketball, with the other three all having played for the Lady Cats. The Lady Cats with those accolades are Susan Dooley Gallian (1974), current Lady Cats Head Coach Molly York Ashley (2001), and current MTSU freshman standout Blair Baugus (2025).
With several more games to be played in the regular season, along with tournament time to follow, Cayman Camfield will certainly set an all-time record of phenomenal proportions. Cayman is the son of Susan and the late Jason Camfield of Waynesboro.
