Let the celebrations begin! Everyone is invited to any and all of the Independence Day Celebrations taking place over the next few days in Wayne County. The shared theme for the holiday events this year is America’s 250th Anniversary, and the cities of Collinwood, Clifton, and Waynesboro will all be hosting spectacular festivities.
The first big Independence Day Celebration in Wayne County will take place on Thursday, July 2nd, when Collinwood holds their 250th America’s Birthday Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular at Ralph Hughes Park. Hosted by the City of Collinwood, the Collinwood Beautification Board, Wayne County Bank, and People’s Bank, the event will offer food trucks, free live music, and more. Gates open at 3:00 p.m., and music will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Ben Daniel, Crooked Creek, and Four Wheel Drive. The Fireworks Spectacular will take place after the skies turn dark.
Clifton Main Street, Clifton Rotary Club, and Clifton Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to a Community 250th Birthday Lunch at Clifton Gazebo Park on Friday, July 3rd. From 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., there will be FREE hamburgers, FREE hot dogs, desserts, and drinks for everyone. This meal certainly speaks “4th of July!”
Proudly sponsored by the City of Waynesboro and Wayne Halfway House, the 250th Anniversary of America and Independence Day Celebration in Waynesboro promises to be better than ever! Gates open at Waynesboro City Park at 5:00 p.m., with live music from local talents Danny Davis and Ben Daniel beginning at 6:00 p.m. Headliner Emily Ann Roberts, up-and-coming country star and The Voice alum, will take the stage next and will perform until the Fireworks Extravaganza begins at 9:00 p.m. There will also be food trucks and free activities for all to enjoy. Admission to the park is free.
Make plans to get out and enjoy the Independence Day festivities and entertainment. Bring your lawn chairs, your friends and family, and your patriotic American Spirit!
