Students in Wayne County will return to the classroom for their first full day of school on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Below are important registration dates and information.
• Wayne County High School – Registration for incoming Wayne County High School students will be on Wednesday, August 6. Freshmen and Sophomores will register at 6pm; Juniors and Seniors will register at 7pm. • Waynesboro Middle School – 6th, 7th, and 8th grade returning students are encouraged to register early online via the link posted on their Facebook page, Waynesboro Middle School-TN Updates. Upcoming 5th graders and new students will need to register in-person on Registration Night, Wednesday, August 6.
• Waynesboro Elementary School – Registration & Back-to-School Night will be at the WES gym on Wednesday, August 6, from 4pm–6pm. This is a time to meet your child’s teachers and take care of your child’s school fees. Online registration is now available via the link posted on www.waynetn.net. New students must come to registration on August 6 between 4pm-6pm. The following documents are required unless the enrolling student is in state custody or is experiencing homelessness: your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and previous school information. • Frank Hughes School – Online registration for returning students is now available via the link posted on www.waynetn.net. New students will register at Back-to-School Night on Thursday, August 6. Back-to-School Night will begin with a mandatory meeting for Freshmen and 5th graders at 5pm. From 6pm-8pm, students and parents are invited to meet your child’s teachers, tour the school, and enjoy free activities.
• Collinwood High School – Online registration for the upcoming school year is now open via the link at www.waynetn.net. Returning and new students may complete registration online. Families are encouraged to complete registration as soon as possible. CHS Open House will be on Thursday, August 6. Please attend during scheduled grade-level time: Seniors-3pm, Juniors-4pm, Sophomores-5pm, Freshmen 6pm. Students will pick up schedules in the cafeteria, meet their teachers, explore classrooms, and visit information stations for fees, lockers, senior information, and more.
• Collinwood Middle School – CMS online registration is now available via the link posted at www.waynetn.net. Online registration is encouraged for all 5th-8th grade students. You are still welcome to drop by on in-person registration night, Thursday, August 6, between 9am-12pm. New students to the Collinwood School System will need to register in-person and are asked to contact School Counselor Mary Lauren Garner at 931-724-9510. The following documents are required unless the enrolling student is in state custody or is experiencing homelessness. 7th grade students will need proof of updated required immunizations. All students need a TN shot record showing that all vaccinations are up to date. You can check with your child’s physician or TN Health Department.
• Collinwood Elementary School – Registration and Back-to-School Night will be Thursday, August 6, from 5pm-7pm in the CES gym. Meet the teachers and find out all the back-to-school info. Online registration is available via the link posted at www.waynetn.net.
