As summer activities and Independence Day celebrations approach, Pet Preparedness Month is the perfect time to make sure your pets are ready for emergencies, severe weather, and holiday fireworks. Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) is partnering with Tractor Supply to host a Pet Preparedness Community Day on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tractor Supply locations across Tennessee. The goal of the event is to help Tennesseans think about pet preparedness before a disaster or emergency occurs. The community event features hands-on safety advice and resources to help you, your pets, and your livestock prepare for emergencies. There will be free educational materials from local departments and emergency agencies along with pet safety checklists with easy, actionable steps to make sure you have an evacuation plan for your animals. Keeping your pets safe is an essential part of responsible pet ownership, and a little preparation can make a big difference in an emergency.
