Sheriff Shane Fisher Warns Citizens of Missed Jury Duty Scam

Sheriff Shane Fisher is once again warning everyone about the “missed jury duty” scam circulating to Wayne County residents. The scammer's number actually shows Wayne County Sheriff's Office on the caller identification. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office will never ask anyone to pay over the phone or through a cryptocurrency kiosk to prevent being arrested on a warrant.
“Please look at the scams tab on the WCSO app if you question any unusual phone calls or requests,” said Sheriff Fisher.
Anyone who feels they have been a victim of a scam is advised to contact the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at 931-722-3615 or dispatch at 931-722-3613 and request a deputy to respond for a report.
