The deadline is almost here for candidates to file their nominating petitions for the Clifton and Collinwood Municipal Election coming up on November 3rd, 2026. In addition to the Federal/State General Election on that day, Clifton and Collinwood residents will see seats for their City Commissions on the ballot as well. There will be three seats for the Clifton City Commission on the ballot, and two seats for the Collinwood City Commission. All these seats carry a four-year term.
Any candidates interested in running in the Clifton/Collinwood Municipal Election must return nominating petition paperwork and meet qualification requirements by Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at 12:00 noon. Candidates for municipal offices must meet certain requirements to have their names placed on the ballot.
Petitions for municipal offices may be picked up in the Election Office located in the Wayne County Administrative Building, 100 Court Circle, Room 201, Waynesboro, TN, during regular business hours through the qualifying deadline.
