Michael Scott Lassiter

Posted

Mr. Michael Scott Lassiter was born in Grove Hill, AL, on March 13, 1963, to his parents, Mr. Harold Lassiter and the late Mrs. Edna Gray Lassiter. He spent his childhood in southern Alabama until he reached his early adult years when he met and married his wife, Mrs. Nanette Horton Lassiter, and the two would unite their hearts and lives on December 19, 1987 and remain married until his passing. He and his wife spent their adult lives raising their children in Collinwood and would share 38 years together. Being a hard worker, Scott worked many years in different capacities in several different fields such as an auto mechanic, the Wayne County Highway Department, and for “Books A Million” in Florence, AL. A service-minded man, when not working he would spend a large part of his time serving his community at the Cypress Inn Fire Department. Being an ambitious man, throughout the years he made many friendships and could always be depended upon for any friend that may be in need, even taking time to speak with his “trucking buddies” on the phone to help keep them awake during their long travels. In his leisure time, he could be found “tinkering” and “fixing” CB radios, fishing, watching his favorite comedy shows and movies such as “Gilligan’s Island” and “Green Acres,” but his favorite was “Smokey and the Bandit.” Mr. Michael Scott Lassiter passed from this life on October 6, 2025.
