Listen closely, and you can almost hear it – the roar of truck and tractor engines is coming to Collinwood this weekend, and everyone is ready! Last weekend’s Old Timers’ Day festivities and this weekend’s Pullin’ in the Wood are two events that put Collinwood, Tennessee on the map every year.
The antique pull will be the first big event of the two-day pull. On Friday, September 11, gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for everyone to begin enjoying the food, games, and other vendor booths. Pulling will begin at 7:00 p.m., and rules will be the same as Crossroads of Dixie.
Saturday, September 12 will be the official Mid-South Pullers truck and tractor pull. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. for the big event and pulling will begin at 6:00. Classes will include Super Farm Tractors, Pro Stock Diesel Trucks, Pro Stock 4WD, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, and Mini Mod Tractors.
A hook fee will be charged, and there will be a cash money payout for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Street Trucks class will be on Friday night, along with Diesel Truck class and Gas Truck class. Antique class will be first on Friday night.
Pullin’ in the Wood will be held again this year at its new home, the far end of Dixie Youth Park in Collinwood. The street address is 101 Bratton Drive for out-of-towners who may need to plug it into a GPS. Be sure to get there early for parking, and be sure to bring your lawn chairs for seating.
