17th Annual Butterfly 5K Raises Near Record Amount of Funds for Butterfly Foundation

Posted

The 17th Annual Butterfly 5K Run/Walk was held on Saturday, June 6th – a beautiful day for a very worthy cause.

There were 514 registered runners, with 471 checking in to run. The kids' Fun Run had 65 of the registered 76 finishing the race. Participants came from several states, with many being annual runners. As always, they came in all ages.

The sponsorships were just shy of last year’s record-setting $121,000 in contributions. The $120,000 in sponsor contributions this year will go far in helping families with very sick children. Several of the Butterfly kids, some who are now grown teens and adults, came to support (or even participate in!) the Run on Saturday.

The Butterfly Foundation, Ryleigh Remembered is a true blessing for our community, and Butterfly Foundation board members say the community is a true blessing to the Foundation. With Board members and volunteers who worked hand in hand, everything at this year’s event went smoothly and efficiently.
