The Waynesboro Middle School Wildcats faced the Richland Raiders this past Thursday. The Cats battled their way to the very end to defeat the Raiders 22-14, with a touchdown run by Logan Brewer with 44 seconds left in the game. The Cats started the game sluggish from the opening kickoff, as they were set to receive the ball and failed to gain possession. The defense stepped up and forced the Raiders to punt the ball. The game remained close as the teams were tied at halftime and at the end of the 3rd quarter, 14-14. The Cats defense held the Raiders scoreless in the second half of the game, and the offense was able to score with the Brewer touchdown and a 2-point conversion late in the 4th quarter to make the final score 22-14.
For the third straight week, the offense rushed for over 200 yards. Logan Brewer had 125 yards on 22 carries to include two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion.
