The Wayne County Historical society is in the process of collecting history and photos of past and present Wayne County Schools. As we all know, pictures are often lost or destroyed. Memories of places and people are lost. Everyone is encouraged to let the Historical Society preserve our heritage for future generations by allowing them to digitize copies and retain them in a common area for all to see. Hopefully in the future, they will be able to publish a pictorial volume of Wayne County School History.
Ann Robbins Phillips, a published author with Wayne County connections, will be scanning and digitizing pictures of old school houses, class photos, and any school related photos for the Wayne County Historical Society in two areas of the county. She will scan and return your photos to you on the spot.
Ms. Phillips will be at the Collinwood Depot Library on Monday, June 3rd, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the Stribling Museum in Clifton on Tuesday, June 4th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please bring your photos to either of these locations to be copied.
Individuals in the Waynesboro area may bring their pictures by the Historian’s office in the Wayne County Courthouse to get their photos scanned.
