Van Samuel Lafevers, age 41, of Lutts, was arrested on Saturday, June 15th after an altercation with officers serving him with a warrant for felony violation of probation. When Deputy Spencer Ray, Sgt. Michael Byrd, and Officer Austin Lanier located Lafevers hiding in the back bedroom of an apartment at Waynesboro Village, Lafevers allegedly resisted being taken into custody. During the altercation, Lafevers allegedly bit and kicked the officers, even after being tased. When Lafevers was finally placed into a patrol car, he became more irate and kicked out the rear window of the vehicle. Lafevers was ultimately arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on two counts of resting arrest, one count of assault on an officer, two counts of felony aggravated assault on an officer, one count of vandalism, and one count of felony violation of probation. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail with no bond.
