Steven Carroll Stults, age 38, of Iron City, was arrested on Friday, May 17th on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule IV, and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the reports filed by Deputy Dale Ray, he and Sgt. Michael Byrd responded to a 911 call about an unwanted person at a residence on Mill Branch Road. Upon the officers’ arrival at the residence, the homeowner advised the officers that Stults, who was inside the residence sitting on the couch, did not have permission to be there. When Stults stood up and placed his hands behind his back as requested, he allegedly admitted to officers that he had a glass pipe in his pocket. On the couch next to where Stults was sitting, officers then allegedly found more drug paraphernalia, including a syringe, a spoon with a crystal-like residue on it, three small plastic bags containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a plastic bag containing two pills believed to be phentermine hydrochloride. The total weight of the substance identified as methamphetamine was 2.6 grams. Stults was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $80,000.00 bond.
