Kayla Elaine Russell, age 27, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, was arrested on Friday, May 17th on warrants issued in January of 2019, along with a capias issued by the Wayne County Grand Jury in March. The warrants issued in January by Investigator Matt Retherford stated that on Monday, January 8th, 2019, Russell and an accomplice went to a residence on Chalk Creek Road where they stole several items located inside a shop and inside a vehicle on the property. Russell was charged with one count of theft of property over $1,000 and two counts of burglary in connection with the incident. She was arrested on Friday, May 17th on these charges, along with charges stemming from Grand Jury indictments handed down on March 6th, 2019 for sale of methamphetamine, facilitation of the sale of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine for resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Russell was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $105,000.00 bond.
