Kevin James Zeigler, age 32, of Savannah, Tennessee, was arrested on multiple charges on Monday, July 22nd in connection with an incident that took place on Tuesday, July 2nd. The report filed by Investigator Steve Wilson of the Clifton Police Department states that at approximately 5 a.m. on July 2nd, Zeigler allegedly entered a residence on Forrest Avenue in Clifton through a front window and assaulted a female resident of the home as she was sleeping by getting on top of her and placing his hand over her mouth and nose, preventing her from breathing. The female was able to fight Zeigler off, but he allegedly proceeded to destroy pictures on the wall and flee with a purse containing $15 cash, debit cards, medicine, and a cell phone. At the time of the home invasion, the home was occupied by three adults and three children. The window that Zeigler broke in through was allegedly located in the occupied bedroom of a 7-year-old child. Zeigler was arrested on July 22nd on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, theft of property, and vandalism. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $105,000.00 bond.
