Ben Darnell Gallaher, age 32, of Iron City, was arrested on Monday, May 20th after a traffic stop. Deputy Tyler McKenzie filed a report stating that he pulled over a 1993 Ford F150 being driven by Gallaher for crossing the double yellow lines. After explaining the violation to Gallaher, Deputy McKenzie asked for consent to search the vehicle. Gallaher granted consent, and Deputy McKenzie went on to discover a cigarette pack containing less than one gram of a substance believed to be marijuana, and less than a gram of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. There were three minor children in the backseat of the vehicle, ages 9, 5, and 4. Gallaher was arrested on charges of simple possession of schedule II methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule VI marijuana, and child abuse, neglect, or endangerment. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $30,000.00 bond.
