Evan William Sadler, age 23, of Waynesboro was arrested on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop on Sunday, June 30th performed by Officer Austin Lanier of the Waynesboro Police Department. According to the report, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 30th, Officer Lanier performed a traffic stop on the Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sadler. After Sadler allegedly seemed to have a slow reaction to Officer Lanier’s questions, he ultimately admitted to having smoked marijuana at a friend’s house. Sadler was then placed under arrest for driving under the influence and was transported to the Wayne County Jail. Upon a physical inventory of the vehicle, officers located a black pouch containing drug paraphernalia including marijuana pipes, containers containing meth residue, straws, and aluminum foil containing a small amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Also located inside the pouch was a small bag containing approximately 0.3 grams of marijuana. During Sadler’s pat-down at the jail, officers found a small felt bag on his person containing drug paraphernalia and a plastic bag containing 0.6 grams of methamphetamine. Sadler was charged with driving under the influence, possession of schedule II methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule VI marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $82,500.00 bond.
