Donald Lee Hendershot, age 51, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Saturday, June 15th on multiple drug charges. According to the report filed by Deputy Eric Wilson, he observed Hendershot pulling into Elgie Dugger Lane, and pulled his vehicle in behind Hendershot. Deputy Wilson had previously received information that Hendershot was transporting narcotics in his vehicle. During Deputy Wilson’s conversation with Hendershot, he obtained permission to search Hendershot’s vehicle. While searching the vehicle, Deputy Wilson allegedly located a purple hairbrush with a compartment concealing narcotics, including approximately 2.8 grams of methamphetamine and ten Alprazolam pills. Upon an inventory of Hendershot’s diabetic medication when he arrived at the Wayne County Jail, an officer found three and one-half Clonazepam pills and seven Promethazine Hydrochloride pills concealed in a diabetic test strip container. Hendershot was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule IV Alprazolam, simple possession of schedule IV Clonazepam, and possession of legend drugs. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $82,500.00 bond.
