Timothy Lee Weaver, age 52, of Collinwood, was arrested on Wednesday, May 8th after allegedly causing a head-on collision on Dexter Woods Memorial Boulevard just off the square in Waynesboro.
Officer Austin Lanier of the Waynesboro Police Department filed a report stating that he was inside the Police Department on Wednesday evening at approximately 5:43 p.m. when he heard squealing tires and a loud crash. When Officer Lanier went outside to investigate, he observed a two-vehicle head-on collision between City Hall and Quik Mart.
The Chevrolet S-10 truck headed eastbound that was struck head-on had three occupants that were transported to Wayne Medical Center for medical assistance.
Weaver, the driver of the Honda that struck the S-10 head-on, was allegedly unsteady on his feet after exiting his vehicle, and reportedly smelled strongly of alcohol. The report goes on to state that a witness’ cell phone video of the accident shows Weaver’s vehicle swerving on the roadway into the wrong lane, driving in a reckless manner, and striking the S-10 head-on in the eastbound lane.
Weaver was arrested at the scene on one charge of DUI, three charges of reckless endangerment, and three charges of vehicular assault. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $76,000.00 bond.
