Blake Lee Barkley, age 22, of Lutts, was arrested on Tuesday, June 11th. According to the reports filed by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, between the dates of May 20th and May 21st, Barkley and Krishna Langford were in possession of a stolen car tag without the owner’s consent. Then, on June 8th, Barkley allegedly entered a building on Big Cypress Road and stole a Stihl weedeater. Officers were serving these warrants along with warrants for violation of probation and failure to appear when during the arrest, a torch and a spoon containing methamphetamine residue were found on the bed where Barkley was sitting. A pair of men’s blue jeans allegedly belonging to Barkley were also found at the foot of the bed, containing a hypodermic needle and a folded piece of paper containing meth. While officers were escorting Barkley to the patrol vehicle, he allegedly bolted and ran in an attempt to escape. Barkley was quickly apprehended and placed into the patrol vehicle. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he was booked in on charges of possession of stolen property under $1,000; theft of property under $1,000; burglary; manufacture, deliver, sell, possession of methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; escape; failure to appear; and violation of probation. He is being held with no bond.
